Cloud computing is one of the most spoken of terms in IT and telco fields these days. What can we expect from cloud computing and why should we want to use it?
Cloud computing can be understood (simplified a bit) as providing service or programmes stored at servers at internet that can be accessed by users for example through internet browser or client of given application and use them wherever they are. Cloud computing in our concept can be understood especially as change in the business model of providing IT services. Among main attributes and advantages of cloud computingu there are flexibility and payment for only really used technologies. Or: you pay only for what you really use.
Flexibility lies in the fact that using services and resources (IT) starts only at the moment they are really needed. There is no need to buy technologies with outlook fro three to five years, but maybe only for two months. There is no need to worry about their capacity, there is no need to worry about them getting old. These are the provider’s worries.
Payment for real consumption then allows us to switch cost entries in regular monthly payments and even pay only for what was really used in respective accounting period. It is the same like with electricity – some months you use more, some months you use less of it.
A specific part of our cloud computing solutions portfolio is infrastructure as a service (IaaS). Within this service, it is possible to build one’s private data center according to one’s demands. For example one to couple hundreds virtual servers, data storage of appropriate capacity and performance, network connection and other services such as security, dividing load to more servers, private virtual network, backing-up etc.
The infrastructure is robust and reliable so that it beats standard opportunities of our customers and therefore it offers another added value.
We know it is a major intervention to our customers‘ IT infrastructure. That’s why professional services, that analyze and help to migrate IT infrastructure to our data center environment so that it seems pretty easy process, are part of our portfolio.
